B.C.
No not Before Christ; British Columbia – my ace in the hole when things get really dry in Colorado – here are some of my personal favorites
Heli Skiing Operations
-
Great Canadian Heliskiing - one of the first boutique operations – small lodge, small helicopters, unlimited vertical
-
Selkirk Tangiers – now part of Revelstoke Mountain Resort – originally one of the most affordable and flexible heli ops
-
Snowwater – owned by the folks who run Valhalla Powdercat operation – it offers cat service on non-fly days – great terrain and party atmosphere
Cat Skiing Operations
-
Baldface – all around great cat operation run by really fun folks outside of Nelson, B.C.
-
Retallack – Some very serious terrain and long runs particularly for a cat op – highly recommend
-
White Grizzly – never been there but hear good things – give me a report if you go
-
Valhalla Powdercats – sister to Snowwater heli – has a good reputation and really fun management
Resorts
-
Whitewater – Classic small powder mountain with great out of bounds terrain
-
Red Mountain – well worth a stop if you’re driving up from Spokane
-
Revelstoke – the new big fish everyone wants to check out – everyone I’ve talked to says it’s amazing
Reports
-
Weather – a site to help you answer that most vexing of BC questions – rain or snow?
-
Road Cams – is it snowing where I’m going?
And by the way, you’re American dollar goes further in Canada – to see how much further check out this currency exchange tool.
